It can pretty much stay in tune even after a dive bomb. I would like a DiMarzio super distortion in that one. I’m thinking if I do any so called upgrades to the Baretta, it may just be changing the pot and the pickup. Not quite sure if the Baretta Special will stay or not. I used to have one of those before I moved up to a nice prestige Ibanez, and I have to say in my experience, the edge III and edge pro are night and day. Is it going to really do anything to put different pups in these guitars? Seems to me that I won’t ever know until I try it. From just a cursory look, this looks pretty similar to the RG350's but with a monkey grip. I have always been a kinda “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” kinda guy. Just waiting to see how it does the next time it rains. I took a little relief out of the neck, and my cowboy chords have much improved. I will probably wind up lowering the Floyd style locking nut on that. It stays in tune no matter how much I abuse the thing. People are telling me that I really should upgrade the trem on it to a Floyd Rose.Īnd they tell me the same thing regarding the Ibanez. I spent quite a lot of time working the nut on the Kramer, and it stays in tune to the level of the six point trem I have on my Fender Vintera 70’s strat. The Kramer has a really great sounding pickup as it is. ‘My friends are all like “you should upgrade the pickups and pots on those”. the Kramer was $179 and the Jem Jr was 499 with a really nice gig bag. I got a Kramer Baretta Special, and an Ibanez Jem Jr.
I got 2 new guitars that were really cheap.
